This is a hands-on review \/ longer-term first impressions (~2 months on the light when filmed), not a booth clip and not a Short.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BRAND NEW Olight Odin Mini Flashlight Review!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P84V3tucy7I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>T&amp;E note:<\/strong> On tape I\u2019d already been running this light for almost two months, mainly to stress the mounting system \u2014 including a hot-gun day with the light left on through roughly <strong>500 rounds<\/strong>. Support the channel: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC-9L8A-ErbbszFrgXbs6QnA\/join\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">join on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>What the Odin Mini is<\/h2>\n<p>The Odin Mini is the compact baby brother to Olight\u2019s full-size <strong>Odin<\/strong> weapon-mounted light \u2014 about <strong>one inch shorter<\/strong>, and roughly in the same size class as the everyday-carry <strong>Warrior Mini<\/strong>. It\u2019s meant to live on a firearm with either the included <strong>M-LOK quick-release mount<\/strong>, or a separately purchased <strong>Picatinny<\/strong> adapter (the style that shipped with the bigger Odin).<\/p>\n<p>I tested both a limited-edition <strong>gray<\/strong> unit and a regular <strong>black<\/strong> finish over those months. Fit and finish felt solid; threads were smooth, with an O-ring at the base.<\/p>\n<h2>Output, modes, and runtime (as filmed)<\/h2>\n<p>Two modes on the end-cap switch:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>High:<\/strong> max about <strong>1,250 lumens<\/strong>, throw called out to <strong>240 meters<\/strong>, up to about <strong>14,400 candela<\/strong>. Quick full press = on high; press-and-hold = momentary. Total high-mode runtime called out at about <strong>70 minutes<\/strong>, stepping down (as filmed): ~6 min at 1,250 \u2192 ~11 min at 900 \u2192 ~39 min at 700 \u2192 a final ~14 min at 200 lumens once the cell is drained.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Low:<\/strong> half-press for on \/ half-press-hold for momentary (takes a little practice). About <strong>200 lumens<\/strong>, ~<strong>2,300 candela<\/strong>, up to about <strong>5 hours<\/strong>, throw up to roughly <strong>97 meters<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inside: a rechargeable cell rated about <strong>2,040 mAh at 3.6 V<\/strong>. Sealed up properly, Olight rates it <strong>IPX8<\/strong> \u2014 submersion to about <strong>2 meters<\/strong> (they didn\u2019t specify duration on tape).<\/p>\n<h2>Magnetic charge + pressure switch<\/h2>\n<p>One of the reasons I\u2019ve stuck with Olight gear: the <strong>magnetic charging lead<\/strong> that snaps to the light and plugs into USB \/ a wall brick. Newer connectors on tape supported roughly <strong>1 \/ 1.5 \/ 2 amp<\/strong> charge rates.<\/p>\n<p>In the box you also get a <strong>magnetic pressure switch<\/strong> that locks onto the tail with a sliding ring \u2014 compatible with the Odin and Warrior X lines. Interestingly it will also hold on a Warrior Mini via magnet alone, but without the mechanical lock.<\/p>\n<p>Purchase path mentioned on tape: <strong>30-day<\/strong> return window from Olight, then a <strong>5-year<\/strong> warranty from purchase.<\/p>\n<h2>Range day + night comparisons<\/h2>\n<p>Shooting footage was from mount testing on a scorching-hot <strong>Ruger PC Charger<\/strong> \u2014 light left on the whole time. Targets around <strong>15 yards<\/strong>; plate rack roughly <strong>35\u201340 yards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Night backyard test landmarks (as filmed): shed ~<strong>40 yd<\/strong>, chicken coop ~<strong>80 yd<\/strong>, neighbor shed ~<strong>101 yd<\/strong>, downhill street bottom ~<strong>300 yd<\/strong>. Side-by-sides vs familiar Olights (S1R Baton, Warrior Mini, Warrior Pro, Warrior Turbo \/ high-candela throwers). Takeaways from that session:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Odin Mini on high easily painted the shed\/coop\/100-yd shed with a usable spotlight beam.<\/li>\n<li>Compared with the Warrior Mini, the Mini looked a bit <strong>tighter<\/strong> \/ more throw-oriented; color temperature differed (Mini cooler on my samples).<\/li>\n<li>Bigger Warrior Pro \/ Turbo throwers clearly out-reach it at 300 yd \u2014 as expected. Odin Mini is a <strong>tactical \/ weapon<\/strong> beam, not a 1,000-meter thrower.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Bottom line<\/h2>\n<p>Olight keeps doing what they do: capable <strong>prosumer<\/strong> lights at approachable prices. Is the Odin Mini as battle-proven-rugged as a Surefire? On tape I said probably not \u2014 and it\u2019s also roughly <strong>half the price<\/strong> conversation. For home-defense \/ PDW work it made a lot of sense. Looking for a proven battlefield light? Look elsewhere. That doesn\u2019t mean this one will fail \u2014 mine survived numerous drops over those two months \u2014 it just hadn\u2019t earned \u201cbattlefield proven\u201d status yet when I filmed.<\/p>\n<p>I was not paid for the video; affiliate purchases through description links help the channel at no extra cost to you.
