For PRS \/ NRL-style dynamic shooting, I called out two essentials: a <strong>first focal plane<\/strong> reticle and a <strong>Christmas-tree<\/strong> holdover layout. FFP keeps the hash marks valid at every magnification so you can hold wind and elevation without clicking every correction.<\/p>\n<p>My usual workflow in the video: <strong>100-yard zero<\/strong>, then holdovers for wind and elevation unless I\u2019m on one fixed long distance or really stretching \u2014 then I dial elevation.<\/p>\n<h2>SCR-2 reticle<\/h2>\n<p>The glass carries Burris\u2019s <strong>SCR-2<\/strong> reticle \u2014 designed with pro shooters in mind for match and long-range work. You\u2019ve got <strong>0.2 mil<\/strong> hash marks and a thin <strong>0.1 mil<\/strong> crosshair. Big win for me: it\u2019s thin enough at high power that it doesn\u2019t blot out the target, but still usable down low. A lot of FFP scopes fail one end of that tradeoff. In this video I called SCR-2 my favorite reticle I\u2019d used in a rifle scope so far.<\/p>\n<h2>Controls, tube, and elevation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>5\u201325x<\/strong> magnification range with a smooth power ring<\/li>\n<li><strong>Movable throw lever<\/strong> \u2014 metal fin that seats in cut channels (nicer than a strap-on lever)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fast-focus eyepiece<\/strong> \u2014 get the reticle sharp before anything else<\/li>\n<li><strong>Parallax<\/strong> from <strong>25 yards to infinity<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>About <strong>3.5 inches<\/strong> of eye relief; fairly forgiving eyebox<\/li>\n<li><strong>56 mm<\/strong> objective on a <strong>30 mm<\/strong> tube<\/li>\n<li>Internal elevation: about <strong>65 MOA \/ ~19 mils<\/strong> \u2014 with a 100-yard zero and a flat-base 6.5 Creedmoor, roughly enough dial for ~1,000 yards; a 20\u201330 MOA canted base helps if you dial a lot<\/li>\n<li>Reticle holdovers add roughly another <strong>20 mils<\/strong> of elevation in the tree<\/li>\n<li>Turrets: <strong>8 mils per revolution<\/strong>, <strong>0.1 mil<\/strong> clicks, <strong>zero stop<\/strong>, locking turrets \u2014 tactile\/audible, not as \u201csharp tactical\u201d as something like an Arken SH-4, Vortex Venom, or Element Titan (per the video comparison)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Glass at the range<\/h2>\n<p>Image quality was surprisingly good for the price point on the day I filmed. I\u2019d shot with it out to about <strong>750 yards<\/strong> in hot, humid, heavy-mirage conditions. Rough practical notes from the video: distinguishing bullet holes out around <strong>300 yards<\/strong> was fine; seeing individual steel hits out toward <strong>600\u2013700 yards<\/strong> was workable. Bright and vibrant with no major color shifts, and sharpness held up well enough that I could separate a shot-up plate from the berm behind it at ~330 yards.<\/p>\n<p>Honesty check: this is not $2k+ Leupold \/ Tangent Theta glass. Past about <strong>20x<\/strong> toward <strong>25x<\/strong>, brightness and clarity fall off, and you start seeing edge distortion at full magnification. Also \u2014 any through-the-scope camera footage loses resolution; look through one yourself if you can.<\/p>\n<h2>Who it\u2019s for (and who should look elsewhere)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Good fit<\/strong> if you want an FFP Christmas-tree scope for PRS \/ NRL22 on a budget, or you\u2019re a long-range hunter who likes holdovers. Locking turrets + zero stop at this tier are real value.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Look elsewhere<\/strong> if you need an <strong>illuminated<\/strong> reticle, you live on low magnification, or you predominantly dial and want more internal elevation travel.<\/p>\n<p>Questions \u2014 drop them on the YouTube video.
