Support the channel: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC-9L8A-ErbbszFrgXbs6QnA\/join\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">join on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Why the 110 Tactical?<\/h2>\n<p>Savage used to sit in a lot of minds as the \u201ccheaper Remington alternative.\u201d With Remington\u2019s long stretch of chaos, Savage has been pushing hard to become the go-to recommendation instead \u2014 wide catalog, willingness to drop actions into third-party chassis and stocks, and a habit of jumping on new calibers early. At the time of this video Savage already had a pile of 6.5 PRC SKUs, but I still did not see a <strong>110 Precision \/ Elite Precision<\/strong> in that chambering, and the cheaper \u201cvalue\u201d lines were thin compared to what Ruger, Howa, and Mossberg were doing.<\/p>\n<p>What we do have: the <strong>Tactical<\/strong> line. On tape, MSRP was about <strong>$830<\/strong> for the gray\/black 110 Tactical and about <strong>$815<\/strong> for the <strong>110 Tactical Desert<\/strong> (tan stock). Specs and street prices move \u2014 verify current tags before you buy.<\/p>\n<h2>Action, safety, bolt<\/h2>\n<p>Core is the familiar <strong>Savage 110<\/strong> push-feed, two-lug, ~90\u00b0 bolt throw. Mine was the first Savage I owned and the action felt smooth for a factory gun. Tang-mounted <strong>three-position safety<\/strong>: forward = hot; one notch back = safe but bolt opens; all the way back = safe and bolt locked.<\/p>\n<p>The oversized \/ extended bolt knob is nicely textured. Caveat: the handle is <strong>not threaded<\/strong>, so swapping knobs means replacing the handle (Anarchy Outdoors makes a threaded option \u2014 code <strong>SlavGuns<\/strong> on Anarchy-manufactured parts). With a throw lever on low mag, that chunky knob can crowd the optic; plan your hold or run a threaded aftermarket handle.<\/p>\n<h2>What actually makes it \u201cTactical\u201d<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EGW 20 MOA scope base<\/strong> \u2014 more usable elevation once you stretch distance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Heavy target-profile barrel<\/strong> \u2014 6.5 PRC gets a <strong>24&#8243;<\/strong> tube, fluted on the front ~2\/3 for a bit of weight savings and cooling surface area<\/li>\n<li><strong>5\/8\u00d724 threaded muzzle<\/strong> with a thread protector \u2014 <em>no muzzle brake in the box<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>1:8 twist<\/strong> (standard for the cartridge), free-floated to the recoil lug<\/li>\n<li><strong>AICS-pattern detachable magazine<\/strong> \u2014 first 110 price point where I was seeing proper AICS bottom metal; my sample came with an <strong>Accurate Mag 8-round<\/strong> (standard AICS with front spacer removed for 6.5 PRC). Those mags have been excellent for this cartridge in my experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>AccuStock + AccuFit<\/h2>\n<p><strong>AccuStock<\/strong> is Savage\u2019s aluminum bedding-rail idea: action mates to a rigid aluminum surface instead of floating on two action screws in wood\/plastic that can shift as things heat up. Bonus: a little added mass that helps with felt recoil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AccuFit<\/strong> is the modular comb \/ length-of-pull insert system (multiple comb heights and LOP spacers; Phillips screws hide in the buttpad \u2014 swap screws if you change LOP). I bumped the comb higher for my face and cheek weld. It feels solid once set.<\/p>\n<p>Marketing language calling it a quickly \u201cadjustable\u201d tactical stock is where I push back. Customizable? Yes. Ten-minute Phillips-and-insert surgery at the range for a different shooter or position? Not \u201ctactical\u201d or practical field adjustability. Set it and forget it.<\/p>\n<p>Grip angle leans hunting \/ upright more than bench or prone precision. If you live behind a bag or on your belly, you will probably want a more vertical grip later.<\/p>\n<h2>AccuTrigger<\/h2>\n<p>Bladed AccuTrigger \u2014 same family as a lot of modern factory rifles. User-adjustable, and plenty of owners get them light. The blade matters here: light sear engagement is part of the design, so the blade is the drop-safety. I am not a bladed-trigger fan in general, but on this platform it is doing a job. Aftermarket triggers exist if you want a different feel.<\/p>\n<h2>Range notes<\/h2>\n<p>Live fire without a brake: noticeably more comfortable than a stock Mossberg in the same cartridge lane had been for me. Velocities on tape were looking consistent in the low ~2800s fps with the loads I was running. During load development this rifle showed <strong>sub-MOA<\/strong> capability \u2014 a very good sign even when factory 6.5 PRC was hard to find.<\/p>\n<p>Optic on this sample: <strong>Arken SH4 Gen 2<\/strong> in Arken rings (separate conversation \u2014 we already dug into Venom vs SH4 elsewhere on the site).<\/p>\n<h2>Bottom line<\/h2>\n<p>I like the 110 action. I like how this gun shoots. AccuStock bedding, AICS mag system with a good Accurate Mag in the box, 20 MOA rail, and a real heavy barrel package are a strong intro to Savage. For the money I still wish it shipped with <em>some<\/em> brake \u2014 Ruger American Predator territory (~$799 MSRP on tape) often includes one, and a lot of Howa \/ Legacy imports in that band do too. I planned a <strong>Patriot Valley Arms<\/strong> brake to match my other 6.5 PRCs.<\/p>\n<p>The name is the rub: <strong>tacticool<\/strong> more than tactical. As a hunting \/ practical long gun that looks sharp and prints? Excellent. As a dedicated bench\/prone precision rifle out of the box? Plan on stock\/grip\/bolt\/brake upgrades to make the action shine \u2014 and that is exactly the follow-up path I called out on camera.<\/p>\n<p><em>Keep on squatting.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Would you run the 110 Tactical as-is for hunting, or strip it into a chassis on day one?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Some links are affiliates.
