WOOX Furiosa Ultra vs Titano: PRS and F-Class Chassis at SHOT Show 2022 (Look Back)

Squat Squad, this one is a look back to the SHOT Show 2022 booth floor (video published November 28, 2022). I was hunting for wood that still behaves like a competition chassis, and Chip at the WOOX booth walked me through two brand-new precision stocks aimed straight at match shooters: the Furiosa Ultra for PRS and the Titano for F-class.

Quick note: this was a SHOT Show 2022 booth first look, not a SlavGuns range test and evaluation. I handled the stocks on the floor; I did not shoot them for this video.

TL;DR

  • What it is: two competition-focused WOOX chassis stocks — Furiosa Ultra (PRS) and Titano (F-class) — built around an aluminum monoblock with wood furniture.
  • Big idea: wood look and feel without bedding a traditional wood stock; bolt your action in and go shoot.
  • Shared kit: Suspense stabilizer weight blocks, straight grip, modular forend and shoulder stock once the monoblock fits your action.
  • Made where: designed/made in Italy and Hickory, North Carolina (per Chip on camera).
  • Status in this video: new for the 2022 show season, with shipping called for later that spring. We already covered the broader WOOX lineup (including shotgun furniture) in an earlier WOOX stocks & chassis article; this piece is the dedicated PRS vs F-class booth walk.

Why I was parked at this booth

If you have not heard of WOOX, you should. Besides the great-sounding name, they make chassis that try to give hunting and precision rifles the warmth of wood with the rigidity people usually only get from aluminum. Chip said a lot of shooters hit the point where they want to upgrade how the rifle looks and feels, and they are tired of the usual polymer options. WOOX’s answer was an aluminum bottom block (the monoblock) that the wooden furniture hangs off of, so you can customize the wood without giving up chassis features.

The original Furiosa already had M-LOK rails on both sides and a fully customizable shoulder stock for length of pull and cheek height. Competition shooters were hanging bipods on it and liking the adjustability, so for 2022 WOOX wanted something purpose-built for them.

Furiosa Ultra — built for PRS

The Furiosa Ultra is the PRS-oriented chassis. Chip’s highlights from the booth:

  • A new monoblock that extends the full length of the forend, which lets them run an integrated ARCA rail
  • Longer M-LOK rails than the original
  • The new Suspense stabilizer system — one-ounce aluminum blocks you can remove or shift so you can bias weight toward the muzzle or the butt and tune balance to your shooting style (Chip agreed when I called it a tuner for the stock itself)
  • A straight grip that PRS shooters like
  • An extra rest at the back for a rear bag

Chip was clear: this one is all about what PRS shooters are doing on the clock.

Titano — the F-class companion

F-class shooters were asking for something different, and that is the Titano. What stands out is the massive, extra-wide forend meant for resting on bags. It shares the Suspense stabilizer weight blocks and the straight grip with the Ultra. Same family, different job.

Modular once the monoblock fits

Chip’s compatibility pitch is simple. Once you have the chassis monoblock that fits your action, you can pick and choose the forend and the shoulder stock. He said major actions were on the list — Remington 700 and clones, Savage, Ruger, and a few others — with the full compatibility list on the website. Woods mentioned on camera included American walnut (what was on the booth rifle) and tigerwood, plus Cerakote options for the monoblock. Chip’s advice for staying current: go to wooxstore.com, because the color and material options change often enough that even the marketing guy has trouble keeping up.

And because it is a chassis, you are not bedding a traditional wood stock. Take off the old stock, drop this one on, and you are ready to go shoot — at least that was the booth pitch.

Our take

I love wood stocks and hate how they flex compared to a rigid chassis. WOOX’s whole brand is that compromise: modular aluminum spine, wood furniture you actually want to touch. The Furiosa Ultra vs Titano split is the interesting part of this booth visit — same Suspense weight system and straight-grip language, but one tuned for PRS positional work with full-length ARCA and a bag rider, and the other for F-class bag shooting with that wide forend. This was still a show-floor first look in early 2022, with later-spring shipping called on camera, so treat it as a look back at the launch story, not a range verdict.
