Booth / in-store first look from Shot Show — not a range T&E report. We missed their range-day demo in this clip.
Channel fans and family — a number of years ago the Bushmaster BA30 made a big impression on me, and now it’s back on the Shot Show floor. Short booth walkaround, not a live-fire review… but worth a look if you liked the original concept.

What it is
The BA30 is Bushmaster’s spring-assisted, almost bolt-action rifle concept — the same idea that stuck with me years ago, refreshed for this show. On the booth floor they walked through a couple of updates rather than a full teardown.
What’s new on the floor
- Feeding improvements — one of the changes they called out
- Buffer tube removed — they dropped the buffer-tube setup on this iteration
- Folding stock — folds, extends, with a cheek riser you can change; vibe is closer to an AK-style folder than a classic AR stock
Availability & range day
They said it should be available relatively soon — I heard Q2 on the floor. They also mentioned roughly 10,000 rounds through one at range day. I missed that range-day demo, so this clip is booth-only. Treat durability and timing as what was said at the show, not something I verified on the clock myself.
Bottom line
Bushmaster BA30 is back: spring-assisted bolt-ish rifle, updated feeding, no buffer tube, folding stock with adjustable cheek riser. Shot Show booth first look — watch the Short for the fold demo, then wait for a real range report before you plan a buy. Keep squatting.
Would you run a folding BA30, or stick with a conventional bolt gun?
