Channel fans and family, this one is for the Gucci Glock crowd. ZEV Technologies and the streetwear brand WRMFZY just announced the OZ DOOM XL. It’s a long-slide 9mm built on ZEV’s OZ9 platform, and it’s the sequel to the OZ DOOM they dropped together back in 2023. That first one is now listed as sold out on ZEV’s collabs page. Like before, this is a limited drop. Pre-orders run for two weeks only, October 31 through November 14.

Quick note: this article is based on the press release. We haven’t handled the XL. ZEV’s own site doesn’t have an OZ DOOM XL product page up yet (the release says pre-orders open on zevtechnologies.com on Oct. 31), so all the specs below come from the release.

TL;DR

  • What it is: a limited-run ZEV OZ9 long slide in 9mm, done as a collab with WRMFZY.
  • The big upgrades: an FDE 7075 aluminum grip with an integrated magwell and two top-loading tungsten weights, plus ZEV’s Fulcrum Adjustable trigger.
  • Optics: the WRMFZY-branded DLC slide is cut for RMR or DPP footprint red dots.
  • Pre-order window: Oct. 31 to Nov. 14, 2026, at zevtechnologies.com.
  • Deliveries: expected March 1, 2027, per the release.

What’s in the build

Here’s the spec list from the release:

  • Platform: ZEV OZ9, long slide, 9mm
  • Slide: WRMFZY-branded, DLC finish, cut for RMR or DPP optics
  • Frame and barrel: DLC coated
  • Trigger: ZEV Fulcrum Adjustable, so you can set pre-travel and over-travel yourself
  • Grip: co-branded, launch-exclusive Gen 2 7075 aluminum grip, FDE anodized, with an integrated magwell and aggressive checkering
  • Weights: two top-loading tungsten weights in the grip
  • Springs: ZEV says every spring in the slide is set up for this exact configuration, so it should run out of the box
  • Magazines: two, with Doom Gypsy basepads
  • Case: custom yellow Condition 1 case

Why the heavy grip matters

The whole idea here is a flat-shooting competition pistol. A long slide gives you a longer sight radius and a bit more mass up top. An aluminum grip with tungsten weights adds weight low in the gun to keep the muzzle down when it recoils. ZEV says the weights “pin the muzzle down through recoil,” and that’s exactly what you want if you’re shooting USPSA Carry Optics-style stages or just chasing fast splits with a red dot. ZEV’s collabs page says the original OZ DOOM was the first time it ever made an aluminum grip for the OZ9, so this is the next version of that grip.

Under all the styling, the OZ9 is ZEV’s modular pistol. The serialized part is a steel receiver, and you swap grips, slide lengths and barrels around it. ZEV’s OZ9 V2 page says it runs Gen 5 internals and barrels with a Gen 3 recoil system, and it takes GLOCK magazines.

The WRMFZY side

If you don’t follow WRMFZY, it’s a streetwear-style brand that does limited drops of apparel, patches and gear, plus collabs with gun and gear companies. The four-eyed “Gypsy” is its signature. On the XL that shows up on the slide, on the magazine basepads and on the yellow case. Co-branded ZEV x WRMFZY hoodies and shirts also go up for pre-order on wrmfzy.com starting Oct. 31.

Who it’s for

  • OZ9 fans and ZEV collectors who missed the first OZ DOOM.
  • Competition shooters who want a heavy, flat-shooting long slide with a red dot cut and a tunable trigger from the factory.
  • Anyone who likes limited drops. The pre-order window is only two weeks, and the original OZ DOOM is long sold out.

If you just want a long-slide OZ9 without the collab styling and the wait, ZEV’s regular OZ9 V2 Elite is already on its site.

We’ve shot the OZ9 before

We spent time with the original ZEV OZ9 on the channel. If you want to know what the platform under the XL is like, start here:

Our take

I like this one. The OZ9 is already one of the more interesting Glock-pattern pistols out there because of the steel receiver and modular grips. An aluminum grip with tungsten weights on a long slide is a real performance build, not just a paint job. The trigger is adjustable, the slide is cut for the two most common red dot footprints, and ZEV says the springs are set up for this exact gun. The flip side is that you’re paying for the name and the drop as much as for the gun, and you’re waiting until March 2027 to get it. If you’re a WRMFZY fan or an OZ9 collector, set a reminder for Oct. 31. If you just want a fast OZ9, the standard models make more sense. Either way, I’d love to get the XL next to our OZ9 and see how much flatter it really runs.

Where to find it

Pre-orders open Oct. 31 at ZEV Technologies. The standard OZ9 V2 Elite is available there now.
