If you’ve been following the channel for a while, you know we’ve been tracking the development of a dedicated TriggerTech unit for the Ruger Precision Rifle (RPR) for years. Back in 2020, TriggerTech began partnering with Ruger to provide the OEM two-stage triggers for the RPR Custom Shop models. While those were a massive step up from the standard factory trigger, they were limited to a 2.5–5.0 lbs pull weight.
The RPR community has been asking for more—specifically, the legendary sub-pound pulls found in the Diamond and Special lines.
Today, we can finally confirm that the wait is over. TriggerTech is officially launching aftermarket RPR triggers for Gens 1, 2, and 3, with pre-orders live now at Anarchy Outdoors and a public release date of January 7, 2026.
From OEM to Over-the-Top
TriggerTech’s partnership with Ruger proved that their Frictionless Release Technology™ was the perfect match for the RPR chassis. These new aftermarket models take that foundation and Crank it up. Unlike the Custom Shop version, these new triggers are designed for the competitive shooter and the precision enthusiast looking to shave every possible ounce off their pull without sacrificing safety or reliability.
The Models: Special vs. Diamond
TriggerTech is releasing two distinct versions to fit different budgets and performance needs. Both are Two-Stage and feature a Flat Lever.
1. The RPR Special ($259.99)
The Special is the perfect “all-arounder.” It provides a significant weight reduction over the factory and Custom Shop triggers while maintaining a tactile, predictable break.
-
1st Stage: 8 to 24 oz
-
2nd Stage: 8 to 32 oz
-
Key Feature: Features Zero Creep technology and a crispness that makes the factory trigger feel “mushy” by comparison.
2. The RPR Diamond ($344.99)
For those who want the absolute pinnacle of performance, the Diamond is the choice. This is designed for PRS competitors and long-range purists.
-
1st Stage: <4 to 20 oz
-
2nd Stage: <4 to 24 oz
-
Key Feature: This is one of the lightest and most consistent triggers ever produced for the RPR platform.
More Than Just a Light Pull
TriggerTech didn’t just drop in their existing tech; they engineered these specifically for the RPR platform with some impressive quality-of-life upgrades:
-
First-Stage Lockout: When the rifle is on SAFE, the trigger lever won’t move at all. This provides immediate physical feedback that the rifle is safe, unlike the factory trigger which often has some “play” even when locked.
-
Improved Safety Feel: Using their own internal detent and parts, TriggerTech has refined the safety selector’s click, making it feel more tactile and premium.
-
Steel Bolt Guides: One of the most underrated upgrades here is the inclusion of engineered steel bolt guides. These improve the “bolt lift” feel and ensure your rifle stands up to high-volume use.
-
Zero Creep & TKR Technology: As with all TriggerTechs, these feature their patented rolling sear, meaning there is zero felt creep.
