Hey Squat Squad. If you want to talk about disappointing: I was looking forward to meeting with Athlon. We are at the Athlon booth at NRA. And I am standing there wondering what is going on.
That is the whole video. Twelve seconds. No new glass. No new reticle. No “here’s the 2026 lineup.” The title is the review: Athlon Optics missing from NRA 2026.
A booth short, not an optic review
I did not invent a reason they were not there. I did not get a quote from a rep, because there was no meeting. I did not pull a scope out of a case and run a tracking test in the aisle. This is show-floor news: I showed up for Athlon at NRA 2026, and the people I came to see were not there.
Shows are how a lot of us still figure out who is serious about the next year of product. You walk the hall, you shake a hand, you get five minutes on a new turret. When a brand you actually use leaves you staring at an empty booth — or a booth with nobody who can talk — that is a data point. It is a thin data point. It is still a data point.
I am not turning this into a hit piece
Athlon has been on the channel before. We have done first-impressions glass. People on this site already run their stuff. A no-show at one NRA does not magically make every Midas and Helos on a rifle a paperweight. It also does not get a free pass. If you are in the value-optic fight, you show up where the shooters are, or people notice.
I am not stuffing this article with a fake Athlon SKU and a made-up street price. We do not have an Athlon store link I am going to pretend exists. If you are shopping glass and rings and the boring mounting junk that actually matters, start at the SlavGuns Amazon storefront. The base-class optic we already ran hard on the site is the Vector Optics Continental 4-24×56 — that is a different brand, a different article, and I am not swapping logos just because Athlon left me hanging in the aisle.
Bottom line
NRA 2026. Athlon booth. I wanted the meeting. They were missing. Twelve-second short, and that is the honest length of the story until somebody from Athlon wants to talk.
