Premium Specs, PSA Price? Introducing the Palmetto State Armory Saber 11 Double Stack 1911

Welcome back, Squad! Our continued coverage of SHOT Show 2026 brings us to the Palmetto State Armory (PSA) booth. We’re excited to give you an exclusive first look at their latest offering in the double stack 1911 platform: the Saber 11. As former gun gamers who can appreciate super “Gucci” handguns, we know that these premium features usually come with a very hefty price tag. But what makes this new Saber 11 so interesting is that it brings hand-fit, custom-quality performance to a price point that’s accessible for most shooters. Let’s dive deep into the details!

Evolving the Saber 11

Rich from PSA walked us through how the new model has evolved since last year. Last year’s show saw the introduction of the original Saber 11, featuring an all-black finish and a black polymer MJD grip. It was impressive, but for 2026, they wanted to create something even fancier – enter the full FDE, all-aluminum FDE model you see in our video.

Packed with Premium Features

The new Saber 11 isn’t just about looks. Check out some of these incredible specs:

  • Aggressive Styling & Control: The gun sports a striking full Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish. The Icarus aluminum grip frame and aluminum mainspring housing provide a rock-solid, quality feel.

  • V8 Ports for Flat Shooting: You can’t miss the V8 ports up top, significantly reducing muzzle rise and keeping you flat on target.

  • Optics Ready: PSA is utilizing the Agency Optic System (AOS) footprint, meaning this gun comes optic-cut and includes an RMR plate. Plates for popular options like the Acro, 509T, and Delta Point Pro will also be available.

  • Precision Barrel: It features a 5-inch bull barrel, promising excellent accuracy.

  • Tactical Ready: You’ll find ambi safeties and a full-length dust cover with a pic rail, ready for all your favorite accessories.

The Game-Changer: A Revolutionary Swappable Trigger

One of the most innovative features we discuss is the trigger system. Unlike traditional 1911 triggers that require full disassembly for modification, the Saber 11’s trigger shoe can actually be removed easily from the front. This allows shooters to swap out trigger shoes – curved, short, long, or other profiles – without taking the whole trigger assembly out. PSA plans to make different trigger shoes available for this platform, allowing you to easily customize the trigger’s feel and look.

Built to Last: No MIM, Hand-Fit Quality

When Rich says quality over flash, he’s serious. Rich confirmed that like the original model, the new FDE Saber 11s are Sabre products, meaning they are built for quality performance and aren’t just for show. Both models feature hand-fit components and, crucially, utilize zero MIM (Metal Injection Molding) components. Everything is fully machined and fully made right here in America, ensuring top-tier durability and performance without unnecessary extra cost.

Grip Compatibility

Worried about customization? The Saber 11 maintains compatibility with most standard 2011 aftermarket grips, including the MJD polymer grip found on the original model. While some minimal fitting might be needed for some components with some aftermarket grips, the gun’s standard design allows for significant personalization.

Availability: When Can You Get One?

Rich shared the production timeline for both versions. The original all-black, polymer-grip Saber 11 is expected to drop by the end of Q1 2026. Once that model launches, PSA will transition to testing and production on the full FDE/Icarus model we’re excited about here, aiming for a release shortly after. So, keep your eyes peeled for both of these incredible options!

We can’t wait to see these affordable, high-performance handguns hit the market. A huge thanks to Rich and the entire PSA team for letting us get hands-on with the Saber 11 at SHOT Show! Be sure to check out the links below to explore more from Palmetto State Armory.
