Wayne walked me through how they make fixed-magazine ARs less miserable to live with — and how you can un-do the lockup later if you move to a freer state.

MA Loader: rock-in top-offs for fixed mags
The problem Wayne framed is classic restricted-state pain: when the magazine has to stay permanently attached to the lower, a lot of people end up punching the rear takedown pin, cracking the gun open, stuffing 10 rounds in by hand, then reassembling. Slow. Annoying. Exactly the kind of friction that makes people give up on training.
The MA Loader is their answer. Demo as taped:
- Rock the loader in from back to front
- Thumb the rounds hard into the fixed magazine
- Rock the loader out
- Result on the booth gun: nine in the mag + one in the chamber — a full 10-round top-off basically as fast as a normal mag change
Two flavors on the table: a 5.56 version and a .308 version. Wayne said he had mainly validated .308 on the large-frame side at that point (not every oddball AR-10 cartridge under the sun yet), so treat caliber fit as “verify with Mean Arms for your specific mag / lower.” As taped they were ready to ship, with booth pricing around $29.99 singles and about $80 for a three-pack — same ballpark for both flavors. They also showed a small feed-ramp clip that sits around the ejection port to help seat the 5.56 loader. Not required — the loader is already AR-shaped — but a nice-to-have accessory (booth talk put it around $15 and in stock then). Again: confirm today’s catalog.
Endomag / fixed-mag lock: drop in, and undo later
The other half of the booth story is the fixed-magazine conversion path Mean Arms marketed alongside the loaders (title card: Endomags) for California / New York–style compliant builds and similar restricted setups. Flow as Wayne demoed:
- Disassemble enough to pull the magazine catch
- Install their lock hardware with the magazine in place
- A 10 mm bolt head shears when it is tight enough so you are not guessing torque
- Magazine stays locked in for compliance
The part that matters for people who move (or keep guns across state lines): when you leave that restricted regime, you can use an easy-out, screw the lock out, and go back to normal removable magazines. That is the whole point of a reversible fixed-mag kit instead of welding your life shut.
Ban states, features games, and the PA house problem
Even if you are not in a classic “fixed mag only” state, Wayne and I talked through why fixed-mag routes are showing up in features-game states like New Jersey — locking the mag can free up other features (threaded barrel / flash hider style choices depending on how your statute reads). That is a lawyer-and-current-statute problem, not a YouTube-booth problem, but the use case is real.
Best dual-home example from the booth: house in a restricted state (NJ / NY style rules) and another place in Pennsylvania where you can have suppressors and other toys. Fixed-mag + MA Loader lets the restricted-state gun stay usable for training without making the whole platform a permanent paperweight — and the lock can come out if your life situation changes.

At Shot Show 2022, Mean Arms’ pitch was simple: if you are stuck with a permanently attached 10-round mag, stop cracking the receiver open every reload — rock in an MA Loader (5.56 or .308), top off mag + chamber, keep training. Pair that with their fixed-mag / Endomag-style lock hardware when the statute demands it, and keep the easy-out path for the day you are not Behind Enemy Lines anymore.
