From pocket 365 to Fuse-sized
If you know the P365 line, you know the story: it started as a compact meant for pocket / deep conceal carry. Then — like everybody and their mother — Sig kept making it bigger because people wanted more gun. We got the P365X, then the Macro (a step up in size), and now the Fuse goes further: Macro-style frame energy with a bigger slide on top.
A lot of folks hate that idea for CCW. Bigger slide, less “micro,” so they call it pointless as a carry piece. Fair take if pure concealment is the only scorecard.
What surprised me in the hand
Forget it as a pure pocket carry for a second. In the hand this thing feels great — almost a 1911-ish grip feel, but in a polymer 9. Flat trigger that felt solid on the counter, with a reset that was nice and positive (once we got past a tight first press on the store gun).
It’s packed for a range / duty-adjacent role more than deep cover:
- Optics cut — mount a micro RMR-class optic direct.
- Flat rear sight — rack on a belt or edge if you need to.
- Fiber-optic front with enough space between the sights for quick acquisition.
- Serrations front and rear that actually work, plus grip texture I really liked.
- Flared magwell on the frame.
Magazines in the box
It came with three magazines: one flush-fit 17-round that feels nice in the hand, and two 21-round sticks. That’s a serious capacity package for a 365-family gun sitting on an FFL counter.
Who it’s for (from this first look)
I’m not a Sig fanboy. This is one of the first Sigs where I caught myself thinking, “wow, I actually dig this — I want one.” As a deep conceal CCW? Probably not the hill I’d die on. As a range gun, a trainer for smaller hands, or a “nice shooting polymer 9 that still lives in the 365 universe”? It feels amazing sized that way.
Bottom line from the counter: polarizing as a carry concept, surprisingly lovable in the hand. I’m reaching out to Sig — and if they don’t send one, I’m buying one.
