Disclosure: The Tac Table was provided by Sunwayfoto for testing and evaluation. Sunwayfoto did not see the video prior to publication, and no compensation was received. This write-up is based on the unboxing, features walkthrough, and outdoor impressions — not a season-long abuse test.
Squat Squad — if you are a precision rifle shooter, a hunter, or someone who shoots matches, you already know the gear pile keeps growing. Rangefinders, binoculars, spotting scopes, Kestrels, chronographs… all of it needs somewhere to live on the line. The accessory that ties that “command station” together in this video is the Sunwayfoto Tac Table (tactical table).

Why tactical tables showed up
At matches and outdoor ranges you see people building command stations — spotting scope for long targets, binos for closer work, a rangefinder to verify distances, and a Kestrel for environmental conditions. In the past that meant a mix of rails or something homemade. Specialty-made tactical tables are the newer answer, and this is Sunwayfoto’s Tac Table.
What made this one personal: it was created by Sunwayfoto at the request of myself and Ryan of Bending Ballistics. The brief was a high-quality Tac Table sturdy enough to shoot off of and modular enough to mount a bunch of accessories.
Build and mounting (from the video)
- Material: machined from 6061 aluminum and hardcoat anodized for durability — same machining language as other Sunwayfoto products on camera.
- ARCA clamps: two low-profile full-length ARCA clamps on either side for quick-on / quick-off accessories (rangefinders, swapping binos for a spotting scope, etc.).
- Threaded holes: the plate is full of 1/4-20 and 3/8" holes so you can screw in magic arms for phones and other devices.
- Rifle use: you can clip a rifle into the ARCA and run it side-by-side with a rangefinder — or, as called out on camera, with an attached chronograph such as a LabRadar LX.
Shooting bags vs bare head
Another use is shooting off the table with a bag. Bags work on a tripod head alone, but the Tac Table gives more surface area for the bag to wrap around. On camera that was shown with an Armageddon Gear Game Changer wrapped on the plate instead of clinging to a small head.
Outdoor takeaway
Framing from the video: functional, durable, lightweight, and versatile enough to earn a spot in the shooting bag. Unboxing + features + outdoor impressions — still not a long-term durability report.
Bottom line
The Sunwayfoto Tac Table is a purpose-built command-station plate for precision, hunting, and match work: dual full-length ARCA clamps, 1/4-20 / 3/8" accessory holes, and enough surface to shoot a bag or clip a rifle next to your glass and chronograph. Built because Ryan and I asked for something sturdy and modular — and it delivers that brief on camera.
Keep on squatting. I’ll see you in the next video.
Do you already run a Tac Table / command station on the line, or are you still stacking rails and improvising?
