Squat Squad — SHOT Show 2025, first booth stop after Range Day, and the rifle is still dusty for a reason. This is the Accurate Mag AM725 A1 with Wilson walking the build. We actually got to shoot it at Range Day — not a pure glass-case look. What follows is booth + range talk from the video. I am not inventing brochure specs beyond what was said on camera.
Accurate Mag beyond magazines
Most precision people already know Accurate Mag for magazines that keep feeding when everything is filthy. At Range Day, Wilson’s mags were still cycling while other guns were choking on dust. The less-known story: they also build actions, chassis, and complete rifles. The AM725 A1 is that stack in one gun.
On camera we talked about four shooters back-to-back and a small group at about 530 yards in serious crosswind — Range Day impressions, not a formal T&E report card.
AM725 action (heart of the rifle)
- Three-lug Remington 700 footprint short action — not a classic Rem 700 internally.
- M16-style extractor, plunger ejector (ditches the finicky old Remington ejector story).
- About a 60-degree bolt throw for faster cycling back on target.
- Bolt release cleaned up vs the old trigger-guard paddle. Still fits Rem 700 stocks / chassis / triggers as a footprint pattern.
- Scope base is a separate stainless piece with pins plus four bolts; ships with 20 MOA. Pin pattern means Accurate Mag’s bases for the pinned interface; a generic 700 base conversation is more nuanced — Wilson walked both sides on camera.
Chassis, Stratum stock, forend
- Stratum folding stock: adjustable length of pull, cheek riser (including lateral with bolts underneath), butt pad that slides up/down as well as in/out. One-button fold locks folded/open and takes roughly 10 inches off overall length. Machined 6061 aluminum, black anodized — Wilson put the stock-alone conversation around ~$650 in this configuration. Fold is left-side; LH actions not on the table yet.
- PRS forend with full-length Arca (about 14 inches on camera) and M-LOK on sides and bottom.
- Complete chassis around ~$1,400 with this stock; simpler stock options can bring a full chassis conversation down around ~$1,100. Modular: full rifle, barrelled action, action only, chassis, or just the center section.
Pricing and how to buy (as said on camera)
- Barrel + action + TriggerTech two-stage: about $2,000.
- Action alone: about $1,250.
- Complete rifle as shown: about $3,500 in 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 stock configurations.
- Website for stock configs; FFL transfer; dealer setup available; custom calibers (Wilson mentioned requests like 6.5 PRC / 6 ARC) with longer lead time. They make everything except the barrel and trigger in the core story.
