Tract Toric 4-25x First Focal Plane Rifle Scope: An Initial Take and Review

Most recently, I had the pleasure of visiting with the owners and founders of Tract Optics and get my hands on their newest rifle scope.

While Tract Optics is not a household name, the brand certainly has a fevered following where the brand loyalty amongst owners is one of the highest in the industry.    As a gun owner, odds are, you have never heard of Tract Optics, but once you do, you seldom look elsewhere.

The Tract Toric 4-25x first focal plane (FFP) rifle scope is a new entry into the market that is quickly gaining attention for its impressive performance and value. This scope is ideal for a variety of shooters, from long-range hunters to target shooters, and even airgun shooters.

One of the things that sets the Tract Toric apart from other FFP scopes is its use of SCHOTT HT glass. This glass is known for its clarity and light transmission, which provides excellent image quality even in low-light conditions. The scope also features a large 34mm objective lens that further enhances image quality.

Another key feature of the Tract Toric is its illuminated reticle. This reticle is designed to be easy to see in any lighting condition, and it offers 11 different intensity levels so you can customize it to your needs. The reticle is also first focal plane, which means that the size of the reticle remains constant as you zoom in and out. This is a valuable feature for long-range shooters who need to be able to make precise adjustments to their aim.

The secret sauce however and the main reason you would look at this scope, versus others in the lineup is the massive internal elevation adjustment.  The 4 -25x is capable of 160 MOA or 47 Mils of internal elevation adjustment.  This means that whether you are shooting extreme long range centerfire, or long range rimfire, you can dial in for a further distance before having to use holdovers.  This is an amazing feature for competitive and target shooters.

Benefits For Airgun Shooters

The Tract Toric 4-25x FFP rifle scope is also a great choice for airgunners. The large objective lens and SCHOTT HT glass provide excellent image quality, even at long distances. The illuminated reticle is also helpful for airgunners who shoot in low-light conditions. Additionally, the massive amount of internal elevation adjustment allows you to make precise adjustments to your aim, even at extreme ranges.
